Invitations, comment and cinema data

CinemaTimes is an independent cinema listings and exhibition data site. It tracks what is showing at every cinema it covers in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, and keeps a permanent archive of every screening it records. It sells no tickets and belongs to no chain, distributor or media group.

Invitations

Previews, premieres, press screenings, festivals and industry events are all welcome, especially in Ireland and the UK. Send the details and an RSVP date to [email protected].

Comment and data

CinemaTimes can comment on cinema-going from the data side, as an independent source with no stake in any one cinema:

  • what is actually on screen, and where, across chains and independent cinemas
  • how cinemas programme a film: how many screenings, at what times, for how long
  • premium formats such as IMAX, Dolby Cinema and 70mm, and who gets them
  • release patterns, wide openings against slow rollouts, and films leaving cinemas
  • week-by-week screen share across Europe

The Screen Barometer publishes weekly screen-share statistics every Monday. It is free to cite: please credit CinemaTimes and link the page you used.

Background

How the data is gathered, and what its limits are, is on the methodology page. Who runs the site and why is on the about page.

Not press?

For a missing cinema, a wrong time or an idea for the site, the feedback page is the quickest route.
