IMAX

A taller 1.43:1 frame, laser projection and a 12-channel sound mix. The biggest picture a cinema can put in front of you.

Showing within 80km of Ringwood at IMAX Melbourne, Village Cinemas Fountain Gate and Hoyts Melbourne Central. Every listing below is this week's schedule, updated twice a day.

The frame

IMAX films are shot for a 1.43:1 or 1.90:1 frame, so you see more picture rather than a wider crop of the same one.

The projection

Dual laser projectors cover a screen that runs wall to wall and floor to ceiling.

The sound

A 12-channel mix placed around and above the audience, tuned per auditorium.
